Le Barcarès You will find Le Barcarès at the Mediterranean-sea between Narbonne and Perpignan (Motorway A9). You can get there cheap and quick with "Ryan-air", airport Perpignan is only 12 miles away. The region is not only known for its famous painters but also for the warmest climate in France. There are beautiful 1000 year old villages, monastaries, grottos, fishing-harbours and lovely hillside with its vineyards. You are always welcome to taste the different wines in the cellars. Also Spain, a Safari-Park, the Pyrenaes or a golf-course are all within easy reach (15-50km). Activities Barcarès offers plenty of activities like sailing, surfing, waterski or diving; horse-riding, tennis, table-tennis, go-cart, mini-golf are also available; the area is ideal for walking (with or without a dog), cycling or inline-skating. You can visit a Disco at "Lydia" which is a large ship ashore - or you try your luck at gambling in the Casino. There are oyster-banks not only to view but also to taste and enjoy the fresh seafood.
